The latest Arupa Music release comes courtesy of 'Tok'ra'; a relatively new alias from lixandru & Acsel. Making the decision to collaborate professionally in late 2019, the duo have been working together off the books for around five years prior to this, the sole objective to unite two well defined musical ideas into a mutual perspective. The artists being rooted in the minimal enriched scene of Bucharest, shows throughout the EP, providing an almost cinematic approach to the darker side of minimal that we love.



The duo title track 'Nightwish' builds anticipation through its atmospheric nature, soft pad rises and sharp synth hits, with manipulated vocals teasing throughout. Following strongly, Lixandru delivers two stunning, step heavy and break inspired cuts, 'Intrarea Principala' providing the glitch, while 'Talismanul' provides the groove; a meticulous percussion excursion, while the dreamy pads and synths take you unwillingly under their spell. The duo then take reign on 'Daily Quest', bumpy but rolling, with a focal point on a stabbed bass. Lixandru is at the centre of operations for the remainder of the EP, showcasing vast soundscapes, reactive synthesizers' and deeply captivating textures.



Jamie Fairley on remix duties, no stranger to the Arupa Music camp, having most recently released on our 5.5 Years of Arupa VA compilation, goes through the gears in his rolling, tight structured and energetic rework of 'Prototip'. Rounding out the release in style, Jamie's production style plays into the hands of anyone who knows a little bit about London's after-hours scene.
